Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter flavor crisco, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. butter flavor, 3 tbsp. cocoa and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Buttermilk room temperature.
Put Crisco and sugar into bowl and beat.
Add eggs, one at a time, and keep beating.
Next mix red food coloring with cocoa, add to butter mixture vanilla and butter flavor and beat. Next the flour, salt and buttermilk in three portions, beating after each addition, and beat until smooth.
Last mix soda and vinegar together and blend into batter with a spatula, not beat. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan lined with wax paper.
A wet sweat band around the pan for even baking. Put in a 350Β° oven and bake for 40 minutes.
Cool completely.
