Raisin Pie
Raisin Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. raisins, 1/2 c. orange juice, 1/2 c. dark brown sugar, 2 tbsp. cornstarch and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Line pie plate with pastry.
Simmer raisins in 1/4 cup water and orange juice for 5 minutes, covered.
Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, grated orange rind, salt and 1/4 cup water. Add to the raisins; bring to a boil, stirring well.
Remove from heat.
Add vinegar and butter.
Pour into pie shell; cover with top crust.
Sprinkle lightly with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar, if you wish.
Bake at 425Β° for 25 minutes.
Serve warm.
