Raisin Bread

Scald milk; add sugar, salt and shortening.
Cool to lukewarm. Measure warm water into large, warm bowl.
Sprinkle or crumble yeast in water; stir until dissolved.
Add lukewarm milk mixture, eggs, nutmeg and half of flour.
Beat until smooth.
Add raisins and enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
