Quick Rolls
Quick Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with about 5 1/2 c. sifted flour, 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1 c. milk, scalded and slightly cooled, 1/2 c. hot tap water and 2 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Combine half the flour and all of the yeast in a bowl and blend.
Add milk, water, sugar, salt and egg, then mix.
Beat with a beater about 3 minutes; add butter and remaining flour gradually and knead until smooth and satiny.
Place in a lightly greased bowl; grease surface of dough lightly.
Cover and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk (about 30 to 40 minutes).
Turn out on lightly floured board; punch down and allow to rest about 10 minutes.
Divide dough into 36 parts and make into balls.
