Pralines
Pralines is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. white sugar, 1 stick butter, 1 c. buttermilk, 1 tsp. baking soda and 3 tbsp. light karo syrup (blue label), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Mix first six ingredients together in a large pan and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring all the time with a wooden spoon. Then lower heat and gently boil until candy forms a hard ball in ice water (about 25 minutes, stirring most of the time).
Damp weather takes a little longer.
Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir until it thickens.
Add nuts and beat until it starts to set up.
Spoon out into paper cups or wax paper.
Let cool and serve.
