Pound Cake
Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 2 tsp. lemon juice (optional), 1/3 c. crisco, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 c. half and half, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream the sugar, butter and Crisco together. Add eggs, one at a time, beating good after each one.
Add flour and half and half alternately, ending with flour.
Add baking powder, salt and vanilla. Beat well.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan (makes one big cake).
Put in cold oven at 325Β° for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Watch after 1 hour.
My oven cooks fast and it only takes 1 hour and 20 minutes.
