Pork Cake
Pork Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 2 c. brown sugar, 1 c. pork fat, 1 c. boiling water and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix raisins, nuts and allspice together with flour in one bowl.
Put soda in boiling water and pour over pork fat and let stand about 5 minutes.
Add brown sugar and egg and stir until mixed.
Gradually add dry ingredients (raisins, nuts, flour and allspice) until mixed smoothly.
Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan at 300Β° for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
