Poppy Seed-Lemon Loaf
Poppy Seed-Lemon Loaf is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 c. all-purpose flour, 1 c. granulated sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 2 tsp. ground nutmeg and 1/2 tsp. ground ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Grease and flour one 9 x 5-inch loaf pan or three 5 1/2 x 3-inch loaf pans.
Into medium-sized bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, ginger and salt.
Add poppy seed and blend well.
In another medium-sized bowl, beat egg, oil, buttermilk and lemon peel.
Add flour mixture and stir until blended.
Pour into prepared pan and bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350Β° or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
