Polish Cookies(Chris Chickies)
Polish Cookies(Chris Chickies) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. flour, sifted 3 to 4 times, 10 egg yolks, 1 pt. sour cream, pinch of salt and 3 tbsp. superfine sugar (can press regular sugar with rolling pin and layer of tinfoil), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Sift flour on table.
Make a well in the middle of the flour. Put all of the ingredients except flour in mixer and beat for about 2 minutes.
Mix a small amount of mixture in center of flour until sticky.
Continue until mixture is gone.
Roll this dough paper thin.
Cut a small rectangle.
Make a slit in the middle and pull one end of rectangle through slit to look like a bow tie.
Fry in hot oil for a few seconds.
Drain on brown paper bags.
Sprinkle with 10x confectioners sugar.
(Usually made for the Christmas season.)
