Beat egg. Add shortening and water.

Pour into sifted flour and salt, mixing with a knife. Turn onto a floured board. Knead until smooth. Let stand 1/2 hour. Roll until very thin. Spread the pineapple over the top. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, then dot with butter.

Roll up and pinch edges together. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and twist to form a ring.

Brush with additional slightly beaten egg. Sprinkle with more cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 375Β° for 35 minutes. Serve with Vanilla Sauce.
