Pineapple Glazed Apple Pie
Pineapple Glazed Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. unsweetened pineapple juice, 3/4 c. apple juice, 3/4 c. sugar, 7 tart, medium apples, peeled, cored and cut in wedges (7 c.) and 1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. In large saucepan, combine pineapple juice, 1/2 cup apple juice and the sugar.
Bring to boiling.
Blend the remaining 1/4 cup apple juice into cornstarch or flour.
Add to hot pineapple-apple liquid in saucepan.
Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.
Add in apples and cook until near tender. Remove from heat; stir in margarine, vanilla and lemon flavorings, salt and allspice or apple pie spice.
