Perfect White Bread
Perfect White Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. warm water, 2 c. milk, scalded, 2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Soften yeast in warm water.
Combine hot milk, sugar, salt and shortening in a large mixing bowl.
Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in 2 cups of flour.
Mix well.
Add yeast mixture.
Mix well.
Add enough of the remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Turn out on floured surface and knead until smooth (about 10 minutes).
Shape in a ball.
Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease surface of dough.
Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place until double in size (about 1 1/4 hours).
Punch down. Shape into desired dinner rolls or make 2 loaves.
