Peppered Beef(Appetizer) is an easy dinner. Made with 4 lb. chuck roast (bone in), 1 c. water, 2 tsp. salt and 1 1/2 tbsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Trim all fat and membrane from meat.
Cut meat into 1-inch cubes.
Put all ingredients in Dutch oven (covered).
Bake at 300Β° for 4 to 5 hours.
Check after 3 1/2 hours; if too dry, add water. After 4 1/2 to 5 hours use potato masher.
Meat should look like a spread.
Serve warm on bread.
Especially good on party rye.
