Penuche is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. milk, 1/8 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 tsp. soft butter, 3/4 c. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

In a pot, combine sugar, brown sugar, milk and salt.
Cook slowly until sugar dissolves and mixture forms soft ball.
Remove from heat.
Drizzle butter over top; do not combine.
Let stand for 10 minutes.
Blend in vanilla and peanuts.
Place mixture in a greased pan; let stand until firm.
Yields 1 1/2 pounds.
