Combine everything in a kettle but the peanut butter.
Cook over medium heat, stirring often until thermometer reaches 234° to 240° or until mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in water. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, but do not stir.
Cool to 110° (lukewarm) before beating.
