In a 1-quart microproof bowl, mix corn syrup, sugar, salt and peanuts.

Microwave on High for 7 to 8 minutes.

Stir in vanilla and butter, continue on High for 2 or 3 minutes.

Mixture should be slightly browned.

Add baking soda and stir quickly.

Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet, let cool.

Break into pieces.

Makes 1 pound.

(Double cook 10 minutes.

Add butter and vanilla.

Cook 7 minutes, then add rest.)
