Party Nut Rolls
Party Nut Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. milk, 1 lb. margarine or butter, 6 egg yolks (save whites), 2 yeast cakes (not dry yeast) and 3 tbsp. granulated sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Warm the milk to lukewarm with the butter.
In large bowl, mix flour, yolks and vanilla.
Crumble yeast cakes and 3 tablespoons sugar until melted.
Add to flour and egg mixture and salt.
Add milk and butter mixture and mix well.
Cover tightly and place in refrigerator overnight.
Next day, chop 6 cups of nuts and divide into 6 equal portions.
Beat egg whites and slowly add 1 1/2 cups sugar.
Divide into 6 equal balls.
Roll out one ball of dough very thin.
Spread one portion of egg whites over dough and one cup nuts over egg whites and roll dough like a cinnamon roll. Repeat process for remaining dough.
Place 2 rolls on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes or until brown.
Freezes well, also.
