Oven Swiss Steak
Oven Swiss Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. round steak tenderized, 1/4 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 2 16 oz. can tomatoes cut up and 1/2 c. celery chopped optional, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cut meat into serving size portions, dredge meat in flour, salt and pepper mixture.
Brown meat in small amount of hot shortening, remove and place in shallow baking dish.
Put remaining ingredients (except cheese) in skillet and heat to boiling, pour over meat.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for two hours or until tender.
If desired, top with cheese, return to oven for a few minutes.
