Oven Browned Chicken
Oven Browned Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 frying chicken, cut up, 1 stick butter, 1/4 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Melt butter in a Pyrex baking dish in a preheated 400° oven. Meanwhile, shake chicken pieces in flour, salt, pepper and paprika mixture in a plastic bag.
Place chicken, skin side down, in melted butter.
Bake 30 minutes, then turn chicken and bake 15 more minutes.
Heat chicken soup (do not dilute) and mushrooms (add liquid, too) together on top of stove.
After chicken browns the additional 15 minutes, pour soup mixture over chicken.
Reduce oven heat to 350° and continue cooking 15 to 30 minutes more.
