Oven Baked Caramel Corn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 10 c. popped corn (unsalted), 1 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c. white syrup, 1 stick oleo and 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Bring brown sugar, syrup, oleo and cream of tartar to a slow boil.
Stir to keep from burning.
Remove from heat and add soda and salt; stir well.
Pour over popped corn and stir until well coated.
Keep warm while stirring.
Spread on cookie sheet or a deep roaster.
Bake at 200Β° for 1 hour.
Stir occasionally.
Cool. May be put in plastic bags and frozen.
Eat directly from freezer.
