Oriental Casserole
Oriental Casserole is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1/3 c. chopped celery, 1/3 c. chopped onion, 1/4 c. chopped green bell pepper and 1 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In skillet, cook beef, celery, onion and green pepper until meat is browned.
Drain.
Add 1 cup water; bring to boiling. Combine the cornstarch, sugar and ginger.
Blend in the soy sauce and 2 tablespoons water.
Add to beef mixture in skillet.
Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
Stir in the drained chop suey vegetables.
Break apart the frozen peas and add to beef mixture.
Cool quickly.
Turn into a 2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in a 400Β° oven for 45 minutes.
Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
Serve over chow mein noodles.
