Orange Peel Bread
Orange Peel Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 egg, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 c. milk, 2 c. flour and 3 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Put peel of 3 oranges in cold water to cover.
Boil 1/2 hour. Drain.
Repeat twice.
Cool enough to handle.
Scoop while out with spoon.
Cut peel fine.
Make syrup of 3/4 cup sugar and 3/8 cup water.
When dissolved, drop in peel and cook until peel is transparent and syrup is almost absorbed (3/4 of a hour, more or less). Mix in order given.
Add orange peel dredged with flour. Bake in greased and floured pan, about 45 minutes at 325Β°.
