Orange Bread
Orange Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with rind of 3 medium oranges, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, beaten, 1 tbsp. shortening and 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cover rinds with cold water.
Let come to a boil, and then drain.
Repeat twice more.
Boil until tender in the third water, and drain.
Add rinds to 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water.
Boil until syrup is thick.
Drain the syrup into a dish.
Cool and cut peelings into syrup, add 1 beaten egg, 1 teaspoon shortening, 1 cup milk, 3 cups of sifted flour, 1 teaspoon salt and 3 teaspoons of baking powder.
Bake in a loaf pan, 40 minutes at 375Β°.
