Onion Fritter Rings
Onion Fritter Rings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 large onions, cut into 1/4-inch rings, 1 egg, 2/3 c. water, 2 tsp. lemon juice and 1 tbsp. melted shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Beat egg, water, shortening and lemon juice until frothy.
Mix in dry ingredients until well blended.
Dip onion rings; let excess batter drip off.
Fry in small amounts in about 1-inch of oil which has been heated to 375°.
Fry about 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Spread out in a single layer on cookie sheet.
Place in 325° oven to keep hot until remainder are cooked.
