Heat oven to 350°.

Grease a 1-quart baking dish.

Combine eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt.

Blend well.

Stir in rice and raisins.

Pour into greased baking dish.

Set dish in a pan filled with enough hot water to come halfway up sides of dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes.

Stir mixture to bring rice to the top.

Sprinkle with nutmeg and dot with butter. Return to oven.

Bake an additional 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
