Old Fashioned Raisin Bars
Old Fashioned Raisin Bars is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. seedless raisins, 1 c. water, 1/2 c. oil or shortening, 1 c. sugar and 1 slightly beaten egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine raisins and water.
Bring to boiling; remove from heat.
Stir in salad oil.
Cool to lukewarm.
Stir in sugar and egg.
Sift together dry ingredients; beat into raisin mixture. Stir in nuts.
Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake in moderate oven (375Β°) for 20 minutes, or until done.
Dust with powdered sugar; cut into bars when cool.
Makes about 2 dozen.
