Combine dry ingredients in large bowl and mix well.
Cut in shortening until well blended.
Combine egg and milk in small bowl until well blended.
Add egg mixture to dry mixture.
Mix well. Pour into greased square pan.
Bake at 400Β° for 25 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares.
Serve warm.
