Mix sugar, flour and salt real good.
Add boiling water.
Cook over medium heat until thickened.
Add butter and cook until melted.
Add small amount of cooked mixture to beaten eggs and mix.
Put back into mixture.
Cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove; add vanilla.
Let cool.
Pour into baked pie shell. Cover with meringue.
Bake at 350Β° until brown.
