Old English Caramel Apples
Old English Caramel Apples is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 tbsp. cornstarch, 1/2 c. half and half and 1/2 c. butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
In 2-quart saucepan, combine sugars and cornstarch.
Stir in half and half.
Add butter.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil (6 to 10 minutes). Boil 1 minute.
Stir in pecans and vanilla.
Let cool 16 minutes. Meanwhile, core and chunk apples and place in 6 individual bowls. Serve about 1/2 cup warm sauce over each serving of apples. Yield:
