Oatmeal Bread
Oatmeal Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. boiling water, 2 c. rolled oats, 4 tsp. shortening, 1 c. dark molasses and 4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Boiling water over rolled oats.
Add shortening; cool; add molasses and salt.
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and add to oatmeal mixture.
Add flour, wheat germ, beating gradually. Turn floured and knead until smooth looking.
Turn into greased cover, leave in a warm place 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
Shape into 4 loaves; place in greased bread pans.
Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk.
Bake in moderate oven (350Β°) for about 50 minutes or until well browned. Yields 4 loaves.
