Nina's Molasses Cookies with Jelly
Nina'S Molasses Cookies With Jelly is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. crisco (solid), 1/2 c. granulated sugar, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 egg and 1/4 c. light molasses (brer rabbit), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cream shortening and sugars together.
Add egg and molasses. Stir together the flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Add to molasses mixture; mix well.
Chill overnight in refrigerator.
Make into balls and flatten with wooden mallet dipped in flour.
Fill centers with currant jelly.
Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° for 8 to 10 minutes. Good luck!
