Moravian Sugar Cake
Moravian Sugar Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter, softened and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Mix flour, sugar and salt; stir in softened butter.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Dissolve yeast and 1/2 teaspoon sugar in 1 cup warm water.
Add to egg mixture.
Mix well.
Add mashed potatoes.
This batter should be thicker than cake batter but pourable.
Add a little water if necessary.
Allow to rise in mixing bowl until double, 1 to 2 hours.
Stir down gently.
Pour into a 17 x 11-inch greased pan.
Let rise again.
Top with brown sugar and cinnamon; dot with butter.
Pinch gently with fingers.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 400Β°.
While cooling, pour mix of 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup milk or cream over cake.
