Monterey Jack and Green Chile Rice

Cook the rice according to the directions on the package. While the rice is cooking prepare a buttered 3-quart casserole dish and preheat the oven to 325Β°.
After cooking the rice, while the rice is still hot, fold in the salt, white pepper, and sour cream.
In the buttered casserole dish, place a layer of 1/2 of the rice, 1/2 of the cheese, and 1/2 of the green chilies. For the second layer, add the remaining rice, green chilies, and the cheese on top.
Cook uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes, or until bubbly around the edges.
