Millie's Congo Bars
Millie'S Congo Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, melted, 1 3/4 c. light brown sugar, 3 eggs, lightly beaten, 2 c. flour and 2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Set oven at 350Β°.
Grease 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Combine butter and brown sugar and beat until thoroughly mixed.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add them to the batter with the mixer set on its lowest speed, mixing until dry ingredients are blended thoroughly.
Stir in chocolate bits and walnuts.
Spread batter in prepared pan.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes until set and lightly browned.
Cool completely and cut into 24 bars.
