Mildred's Hot Rolls
Mildred'S Hot Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 1/2 c. flour, 2 pkg. yeast, 1 1/4 c. milk, 1/4 c. sugar and 1/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix 2 cups flour and yeast together in a bowl.
In a pan, heat milk, sugar, shortening and salt just until warm and stir constantly.
Add the milk mixture to flour mixture, then add the egg.
Beat with a hand mixer on low speed for 1/2 minute. Beat 3 minutes on high. Stir in remaining flour and mix with a spoon. Knead on a floured board 5 minutes.
Shape into a ball and place in bowl. Cover.
Let rise 1 hour.
Punch down. Shape into rolls. Place in greased baking pan.
Let rise again for 30 minutes. Bake at 400Β° until brown. Brush with butter.
