Meringue Mushrooms
Meringue Mushrooms is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 egg whites, 1/8 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/4 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Preheat oven to 250Β°.
In small bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
Add salt, cream of tartar and vanilla.
Beat until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating at high speed until stiff peaks form.
Fill pastry bag fitted with large writing tip with meringue.
Pipe 15 mounds resembling "caps" of mushrooms (1 to 1 1/2 inches) on a foil-lined sheet.
Pipe 15 "stems" (1 to 1 1/2 inches long).
Sift cocoa mix over caps and stems.
Bake for 25 to 35 minutes.
Cool completely.
