Melt-Away Cheese Rounds
Melt-Away Cheese Rounds is an easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter or margarine, 3 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 c. flour, dash of salt and 1 tbsp. poppy seed or 2 tsp. paprika for garnish (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream butter until light and fluffy.
Add cheese, flour, salt and paprika or poppy seed.
Form mixture into a dough.
Let rest in refrigerator for about 2 hours.
Shape dough into small even balls.
Place on ungreased microsafe cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with some paprika or poppy seed, if desired.
Microwave on High power for 1 1/2 minutes.
Let rest for a few minutes.
Microwave again on High power for another 30 to 45 seconds.
Let cookies rest for a few minutes.
Remove carefully.
Serve immediately or store in airtight container until ready to serve.
