Lemon Meringue Cake
Lemon Meringue Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/4 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, separated, 1 egg and 1 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream 1/4 cup butter; gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, beating at medium speed.
Add 2 egg yolks and 1 egg to creamed mixture; mix well.
Combine 1 cup flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Mix after each addition.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 28 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from pan; cool completely.
