Place lamb in a shallow roasting pan.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Roast in a 325Β° oven for 35 to 40 minutes per pound. Drain crabapples, reserving 3/4 cup syrup.

Combine reserved crabapple syrup with brown sugar.

Stir to blend.

Pour some sugar mixture over lamb 30 to 45 minutes before end of roasting time. Baste lamb frequently with sugar mixture during remainder of cooking period.
