Layered Walnut Pumpkin Pie
Layered Walnut Pumpkin Pie is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. diamond walnuts, 1 envelope unflavored gelatin, 1/4 c. cold water, 1 (1 lb.) can pumpkin and 3/4 c. granulated sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Chop walnuts fine; set aside.
Soften gelatin in water in a 2-quart saucepan.
Stir in pumpkin, 1/2 cup of the sugar, milk, lightly beaten egg yolks, spice and salt.
Heat just to boiling, stirring constantly.
Turn heat very low.
Cook 5 minutes, stirring.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and Cool Whip.
Chill until mixture thickens slightly.
