Italiano Marinara
Italiano Marinara is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 tbsp. olive or canola oil, 1 c. chopped onion, 4 garlic cloves, minced, 2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes, undrained and 4 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley or substitute dried, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
In a 4-quart saucepan, heat oil and cook onion and garlic until tender, but not brown.
Stir in tomatoes with liquid, parsley, sugar, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally to break up tomatoes, 15 to 20 minutes.
