Italian Toast
Italian Toast is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. margarine, 3 eggs, 1 tbsp. baking powder and 3 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
In mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add 2 eggs and flavoring.
Stir in flour mixture and mix well.
Add nuts to batter.
Chill well (about 2 hours).
Shape into 3 loaves.
Brush top with egg white from third egg.
Bake on slightly greased cookie sheet at 300Β° for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Slice into 1/2-inch diagonal slices.
Return to oven and brown 30 minutes or until dry.
