Italian Bread
Italian Bread is an easy dinner. Made with 5 c. flour, 2 1/2 tsp. yeast (1 pkg.), 1 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 tbsp. corn oil and 2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Put flour in bowl and mix in yeast, salt and oil.
Add water and work/knead until velvety smooth.
Put in bowl; cover with cloth and let rise until doubled in size.
Punch down.
Knead 5 minutes. Shape into 2 loaves in greased pans.
Cover with cloth and let rise until doubled.
Preheat oven to 450°.
Bake for 25 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° and bake 45 minutes more.
It will sound hollow when tapped.
