Irish Whole Wheat Soda Bread
Irish Whole Wheat Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix first 6 ingredients together. Rub in butter.
Mix in buttermilk until dry ingredients are moist and away from sides of bowl.
(Mix with your hands.)
Knead on a floured board until smooth.
Flatten dough ball until it is 2-inches high.
Cut a cross on top with knife.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour on wire rack. (You can start baking on cookie sheet until bottom is firm enough for rack.) Delicious with corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day.
