Irish Soda Bread
Irish Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 1/2 c. sifted flour, 2/3 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Grease 8 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Into mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients.
Add raisins and caraway seed, mixing well to coat the raisins with flour.
Combine the eggs, buttermilk and butter.
Add to dry ingredients.
Mix lightly only until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn batter into pan.
Bake in preheated oven for about 1 hour.
Makes one loaf.
