Icicle Cucumber Pickle
Icicle Cucumber Pickle is an easy dinner. Made with 2 gal. cucumbers, cut up and sliced thin, 1 gal. boiling water and 2 c. salt (best to use plain), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix water and salt. Pour over cucumbers and let stand one week. Stir after third day to keep down scum.
Drain and add alum about the size of a walnut. Powdered will do.
Cover with boiling water and let stand 24 hours or no more than 2 days.
Drain and rinse in cold water.
