Hush Puppies
Hush Puppies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with vegetable oil, 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal, 1/3 c. all purpose flour, 1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Heat 2 to 3 inches vegetable oil in deep fryer or large sauce pan to 350°. Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt in medium mixing bowl.
Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
Drop batter by tablespoons into hot vegetable oil.
Fry a few at a time, 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve immediately or keep warm at 175° oven.
Makes about one dozen hush puppies.
