Hush Puppies
Hush Puppies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. self-rising meal, 3/4 c. flour, 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1 onion, finely chopped and 1 can cream-style corn, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix dry ingredients together.
Add corn a little at a time. You want this mixture to be thick enough to drop from a spoon. Sometimes I don't use the entire can of corn.
After mixing the corn, add onion; onion is optional.
I use ice cream scoop and drop a small amount, maybe a tablespoonful, into hot oil and let them brown lightly.
Do not have the oil too hot or they will be raw in the center.
This recipe makes enough to serve from 4 to 6 people.
