Hot Milk Sponge Cake
Hot Milk Sponge Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 lb. margarine, 1 c. milk, 4 eggs, 2 c. sugar and 2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In a saucepan, melt the butter in the milk.
Set aside.
Beat eggs until light.
Add sugar and continue beating.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together on waxed paper or in a bowl. Gradually fold into egg mixture.
Add hot milk all at once.
Stir just until smooth.
Pour into 2 greased 9-inch pans.
Bake in a preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
