Homemade Biscuits
Homemade Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 4 tbsp. shortening and 3/4 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Sift flour, measure and add baking powder and salt. Sift again.
Cut in shortening.
Blend until mixture looks like coarse corn meal.
Stir in enough milk to make soft dough.
Turn dough out on light floured board.
Knead lightly, about 1/2 minute.
Pat or roll out 1/2-inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter.
Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in hot oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 14 to 16 (2-inch) biscuits or makes 24 small ones.
